Team History

The American University Sailing Club was started in Spring 2005 by Martin Hermida and Mike Wollin. Since then, it has grown to over 20 members and has raced FJs, 420s, Tech Dinghys, and J/109s in many regattas in the MAISA area.

The AU Sailing Team hopes to raise enough money to buy and maintain 3 to 4 FJs so that we can increase the amount of sailors that can practice each day. Eventually, we would also like to hire a coach of our own.

We anticipate a talented group of sailors for 2007-08 and are excited for the year to start!
